AKRON (Feb. 8, 2006) — Goodyear has signed on with NBC to provide aerial support for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy.
The games run from Feb. 10-26. As part of the deal, Goodyear's coverage will be highlighted by on-screen animations plus product announcements featuring SilentArmor and Assurance tires featuring TripleTred.
“This is an excellent opportunity for us to deliver product and technology messages to an enormous audience,” said Joey Viselli, director of marketing services for Goodyear.
At the company's dealer meeting this month in Nashville, Tenn., Mr. Viselli said more than 80 percent of U.S. households watch some portions of the Olympics. “It's TiVo-proof,” he said, referring to digital video recorders used to skip commercials.
