IRVINE, Calif. (Feb. 1, 2006) — Joseph “Corky” Coker, president of Coker Tire Co., has been named “Person of the Year” by the Automotive Restoration Market Organization.
Mr. Coker, whose company is a distributor of tires and wheels for collector vehicles, was a founding member and former chairman of the organization, which is the auto restoration council within the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA). Mr. Coker recently completed a two-year term as chairman of SEMA.
“I am deeply honored by this award and feel blessed to have been able to earn a living in this wonderful restoration market,” Mr. Coker said in a statement.
In early 2005, Mr. Coker also received a Lifetime Achievement award from the National Hot Rod Association for his commitment and dedication to the preservation and expansion of the sport.
