HILTON HEAD, S.C. (Jan. 17, 2006) — Tire aging, tire safety and new advances in tire technology will be among the topics of 21 separate presentations at the 22nd Annual Clemson University Tire Industry Conference, scheduled for March 15-17 in Hilton Head.
Presenters will include Joseph D. Walter, adjunct professor at the University of Akron, who will discuss the fuel efficiency of replacement passenger tires.
Ronald L. Medford, senior associate administrator for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, will provide an overview of future tire and vehicle safety issues at the agency.
John M. Baldwin, polymer technical leader for Ford Motor Co., will update attendees on Ford's research in tire aging.
Isabel Jasinowski, corporate vice president-government affairs for Goodyear, will be the luncheon speaker March 16.
