TOKYO (Dec. 21, 2005) — Dunlop, Michelin and Yokohama brands each came in first in different segments in a J.D. Power and Associates survey of original-equipment tire customer satisfaction in Japan.
Dunlop ranked highest in customer satisfaction in the compact car segment, Michelin ranked first in the passenger car segment and Yokohama scored first in the minivan segment, J.D. Power said. The study measures customer satisfaction with OE tires based on performance in six areas: appearance, quality and durability, ride and comfort, handling, traction and fuel efficiency.
In the compact car segment, Dunlop scored highest in four of the six factors, followed in rank by Michelin, Yokohama and Bridgestone. In the passenger car segment, Michelin ranked highest in each factor, followed by Dunlop and Bridgestone. Finally, in the minivan segment, Yokohama ranked highest in three factors, followed by Bridgestone and Goodyear.
