ROME, Ga. (Nov. 17, 2005) — Pirelli Tire North America (PTNA) Inc. has earned two international quality award certifications for its Rome plant.
PTNA's Rome factory recently was certified with the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 award, which covers the fundamentals of a factory's quality systems, and ISO/TS 16949:2002, which covers quality standards for design, production and sales.
“It is very important for Pirelli Tire to continually improve its quality system objectives,” said Paolo Ghirga, Pirelli Tire's director of quality. “As with all of our operational goals, we are continuously working to exceed the expectations of our customers; always striving to be the 'best of the best,' especially with regard to providing a quality tire with quality service.”
ISO standards are developed and monitored by the International Organization for Standardization, the world's largest developer of standards. ISO a non-governmental organization, consisting of a network of the national standards institutes of 156 countries with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland.
CISQ Automotive/Certiquality S.r.l in Milano, Italy, issued the certificate.
