LAS VEGAS (Nov. 2, 2005) — Prema Products Inc. officially announced the start of distribution for its tire repair materials in the U.S. during the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas.
Prema's parent company in Germany had first started distribution in Canada before beginning in the U.S. this summer, said Dan Hunstiger, vice president of Prema, which is based in Covington, Ga.
Prema has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Ascot Supply Corp. of Newnan, Ga. Ascot President Gerald Robinette told Tire Business the PremaCare line filled a void in the offerings of his company, which operates 42 warehouses in the U.S. “It's a line we needed,” he said.
Also at the SEMA Show, Prema unveiled its PremaCare tire repair system, which includes tire repair products for passenger car, light truck, fleet and heavy duty, agricultural, industrial and off-the-road tire repair. Mr. Hunstiger said the system of patches, plugs and related products is designed to be “user-friendly” with extra tackiness and simple SKUs.
“We don't need 900 SKUs to repair a quarter-inch nail hole,” he said.
Products in the PremaCare line are positioned between other low end and high-end repair products.
