LAS VEGAS (Nov. 1, 2005) — Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) has teamed up with Wholesale Tire & Wheel Corp. (WTW), marketer of the high-end wheel brand Giovanna, to leverage their marketing and branding efforts in the premium vehicle market.
The first tangible product of the partnership is a Giovanna-edition ContiSportContact 2 tire, being unveiled at the 2005 SEMA show, which is under way in Las Vegas. This limited edition tire is being offered in two sizes, 265/30ZR22 and 295/25ZR22.
“We are pleased to work with a renowned premium tire manufacturer like Continental,” said Diko Sulahian, president of WTW. “We understand the premium vehicle niche market and have recognized a need for a high performance tire with larger, customized fitments.”
“The partnership is an excellent opportunity to combine each company's marketing and branding efforts in order to increase our presence in the premium vehicle market,” said Andreas Gerstenberger, vice president of sales and marketing for CTNA's Passenger and Light Truck Replacement Group.
Both firms said the partnership will create a "force in the industry by combining a lifestyle-driven wheel company with a technology- and performance-minded tire company."
In addition to the ContiSportContact 2 Giovanna edition tire, CTNA and WTW are showcasing their premium tires and wheels at the SEMA 2005 show in WTW's booth numbers 43927 and 43743.
Santa Fe Springs, Calif.-based WTW offers five brands in one-, two- and three-piece designs.
