LAS VEGAS (Nov. 1, 2005) — Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels is moving to larger facilities in Stow, Ohio, to accommodate what an executive called “tremendous” sales growth.
The new distribution center and office complex will be more than twice the size of the firm's existing facility, according to Kurt Thomas, director of operations.
“Due to tremendous sales growth,” Mr. Thomas said, “Mickey Thompson simply had outgrown the previous location,” also located in Stow.
The private brand tire marketer did not disclose the size of the new facility nor its cost. It expects to occupy the warehouse/office complex during November.
A subsidiary of Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., Mickey Thompson designs, develops and markets racing and high-performance tires for drag racing cars and motorcycles, modified street cars, off-road racing vehicles and modified pick-up trucks and sport-utility vehicles.
