Rent-n-Roll Custom Wheels and Tires, the Tampa-based tire and wheel rent-to-own franchise operation, has made deals to open 26 new stores in five states, according to the company.
``It just keeps happening for us,'' said Rent-n-Roll President Larry Sutton, noting the firm now has 33 stores in operation and plans to have 37 by the end of 2005.
In Oregon, franchise partners Joe Brandes and David Griffey plan to open six Rent-n-Roll stores, the first of which opened in Portland in September, according to Mr. Sutton.
Meanwhile, Geron Vail, already a successful Rent-n-Roll franchisee, has joined partners David Harrison and Don Parker and the management team has committed to open 20 stores in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri, Mr. Sutton added.
Messrs. Vail, Harrison and Parker will open their first two stores under the new franchise agreement within the next 90 days, according to Mr. Sutton. Based on a planned opening schedule, the next 18 stores are due to open over the next four years.
A plan to sell the entire franchise rights for Canada is alive, Mr. Sutton said. Although Canadian paperwork requirements delayed the deal, it has been signed and the first Canadian Rent-n-Roll store is expected to open next April, he said.
Founded in 2000, Rent-n-Roll now has 147 stores under contract and, Mr. Sutton said, most should be opened within five years.
