O.K. Tire names VP of operations
LANGLEY, British Columbia-O.K. Tire Stores Inc. has appointed Greg Lamothe to vice president of operations.
Previously national purchasing and logistics manager for the company, Mr. Lamothe becomes responsible for O.K. Tire's operating divisions including logistics and purchasing, new dealer development, dealer support, new business development and sales and marketing.
Big O's Steffens gets marketing post
CENTENNIAL, Colo.-Big O Tires Inc., a subsidiary of TBC Corp., has named Steve Steffens to the newly created position of marketing vice president.
He most recently served as western division vice president.
Mr. Steffens' responsibilities in-clude working with the firm's marketing and advertising group in building the Big O brand and continuing efforts to bring a retail focus to its advertising and promotional efforts.
He also will work with Big O's regional marketing committees to increase market share in areas the company serves.
Mr. Steffens has more than 35 years of experience in the automotive industry and more than 30 years in marketing and advertising.
Denman appoints marketing director
LEAVITTSBURG, Ohio-Denman Tire Corp. has named James Tuschner to the newly created position of director of marketing.
Mr. Tuschner most recently was mid-central regional sales manager.
``James will have the primary responsibility for formulating market plans, product planning and positioning, new product development and service and assisting in the area of international business development,'' said Manny Cicero, Denman's president and CEO.
``In addition, James will oversee and direct market research, competitor analyses and develop required retention initiatives as they relate to the current customer mix.''
Goodyear's de Bok gets post in Europe
AKRON-Goodyear has named Arthur de Bok president of its European Union (EU) tire business, replacing Michael J. Roney, who resigned.
Mr. de Bok, 43, joined Goodyear in January 2002 as vice president of marketing for the EU business. Prior to that, he held several executive positions in Europe at Procter & Gamble Co.
When Goodyear's EU business was restructured into product business units in mid-2003, he was promoted to vice president of its consumer tire business.
Headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, the EU business is Goodyear's largest outside of North America with 2004 sales of $4.5 billion.
