NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 10, 2005) — Bridgestone/Firestone will partner with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation for a second straight year to collect toys and other gifts for needy children.
“We saw from the success of our efforts last year that Toys for Tots really makes a difference in the lives of so many children,” said John Gamauf, president of consumer replacement tire for BFS.
Last year the Toys for Tots program distributed 19 million new toys to 7.5 million children in the U.S.
For the program, designated BFS retail outlets, including independent and company-owned shops, will serve as drop-off sites for their communities. Toy collection campaigns run from October through Dec. 16.
This is the second year of BFS' three-year sponsorship of the Toys for Tots program.
