Conti launches two online tools
CHARLOTTE, N.C.-Continental Tire North America Inc.'s passenger and light truck replacement group is unveiling two online initiatives to make product and marketing information more available for business partners.
Conti said its E-Zone online training is the next generation to its CD-based product training. The tool provides access to Continental and General tire product information and selling scenarios.
The second initiative, dubbed CTNA's Web Toolbox, serves as an online resource for Continental and General tire marketing materials. Users can order point-of-sale materials, signage, catalogs and other products to enhance brand identification.
The tools are accessible through the ContiLink dealer extranet Web site.
Kumho expanding colored-smoke line
FONTANA, Calif.-Due to increased demand and interest, Kumho Tire USA Inc. will boost production of its Ecsta MX-C tire that produces colored smoke.
The firm debuted the tire with Enjuku Racing at the Formula Drift event in May at Road Atlanta. The tire has additional chemicals in its compound that produce either red or blue smoke when spun on pavement.
The MX-C originally was produced in limited quantities in size 255/40R17 as required by the racing team.
Kumho is bumping up production to meet the Sports Car Club of America's Formula D rules and make the tire readily available for drifting and burnout competitions, said Rick Brennan, Kumho brand director.
The tire will be available in four sizes: 225/50R16, 255/40R17, 275/40R17 and 275/40R18.
