PULLMAN, Wash. (Sept. 20, 2005) — Big O Tires Inc. donated $10,000 to the Harris/Williams Foundation's Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund during a Sept. 17 football game between Grambling State University and the Washington State University Cougars.
Grambling State University from Grambling, La., made its first visit to the Pacific Northwest for the game, which was the start of a series of non-conference football games and performance marching band events along the West Coast to promote the university and their educational opportunities. The focus shifted to hurricane relief efforts, particularly since many of the Grambling band and football team members are from New Orleans and other areas affected by Hurricane Katrina.
Tim Miller, a native of Manson, Wash., and a graduate of Washington State, presented a $10,000 check on behalf of the 12 Big O Tires stores in the state of Washington. Mr. Miller currently is vice president and treasurer of TBC Corp., the parent company of Big O Tires Inc.
“As a native of Washington, a proud graduate of WSU and on behalf of TBC Corp., the parent company of Big O Tires, it is an honor to present this check for $10,000 to the Harris/Williams Foundation/Katrina Relief Fund,” Mr. Miller said.
