CHARLOTTE, N.C.—In addition to donating $100,000 to help Hurricane Katrina victims who have been relocated to North Carolina, Continental A.G. and its U.S. divisions are opening an idled Conti Teves brake parts plant in Asheville, N.C., to hurricane.
Conti—including its Continental Tire North America Inc. and Continental Automotive Systems units—is working with the American Red Cross and local relief officials to open the Asheville facility—idle since last June—to house hurricane evacuees.
The company's $100,000 will go toward taking care of evacuees not only in Asheville, but also at the Charlotte Coliseum, according to a Conti press release.
