MASSILLON, Ohio (Sept. 12, 2005) — Standards Testing Laboratories (STL) Trans Tech will hold its next Tire Technology Seminar Oct. 4-6, at the company´s Massillon-based testing and evaluation facility.
STL said the two-and-a-half day seminar covers tire basics and provides a comprehensive overview of tire industry technology. Tire nomenclature, raw materials and manufacturing, design, construction, testing, applications and other tire topics will be addressed by a panel of engineering, chemistry, physics and tire industry professionals.
The program is designed for entry-level engineers and individuals who need to know about tires for their jobs, STL said.
“Past seminar attendees have included a range of individuals—from attorneys who deal with tire litigation to raw material suppliers to Department of Transportation and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration representatives and Federal Bureau of Investigation staff that conduct tire footprint research,” said Cheryl Schnuth, STL's vice president of marketing. “Even the Environmental Protection Agency has sent their people through the seminar."
The registration fee of $800 includes admission to the seminar, all materials, three lunches, the evening banquet and refreshments throughout the course. STL will assist in reserving affordable hotel accommodations for out-of-town attendees. Deadline to register for the course is Sept. 15.
