TOKYO (Sept. 6, 2005) — Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. will use the upcoming 61st International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt, Germany, to promote its Advan performance tire brand.&Copy;
Under the theme “Further Evolving Advan—A Global Flagship Brand,” the Tokyo-based tire maker said it will promote its commitment to become a world leader in tire brand development through three aspects: its flagship product lineup; flagship original equipment activities; and mortorsports activities.
Last year Yokohama began positioning Advan as a global brand. All flagship tire development and motorsports activities are now under the Advan marque.
The company plans to exhibit its Advan Sport and Advan ST high-performance tires as well as highlight its selection as an OE supplier for a range of premium cars. The Frankfurt show runs Sept. 13-25.
In the motorsports arena, Yokohama said it will provide tires for the FIA-European Touring Car Cup (ETCC), to be held in October, and the next season of the FIA-World Touring Car Championship (WTCC).
The company also will exhibit rally tires including its A035E for gravel road surfaces and A006T for tarmac road surfaces.
