GREENVILLE, S.C. (Sept. 1, 2005) — Michelin North America Inc.'s BFGoodrich brand has tailored its Web site to improve consumer accessibility.
A new section on the www.bfgoodrichtires.com site titled “BFG Backstretch” includes detailed information for tuner, sports car and off-road enthusiasts. It features exclusive videos, enthusiast photo galleries, screensavers and free wallpaper downloads, and an in-depth look at BFGoodrich-sponsored racing. The section features a story about Baja 1000 set up or recon and an exclusive video of the Signal Drifting Team “lighting up” a set of BFG tires, the company said.
The Web site's “Ask the Experts” area now includes an expanded display of the current month's questions, Michelin said. The page also offers easier access to “tire tips” content, providing information about tire rotation, how to handle a blowout situation, frequently asked questions and other useful tools for consumers.
“With this new Web site we are incorporating new technology, while continuing to serve our customers,” said Owen Schiano, brand director for BFGoodrich Tires. “This site captures all aspects of the BFGoodrich brand, from the full tire line to our cherished motorsports background.”
The site also has an expanded racing and events section that explains how BFG uses racing as a proving ground to make better performing tires for the road, according to the company. It includes news updates on various BFGoodrich-sponsored race series, a history of BFGoodrich racing, a showcase about BFG's involvement behind the scenes at race events, descriptions of the series and links to their official pages.
The homepage features new style and tire selectors to help consumers choose the best tire based on their vehicle types, as well as expanded access to the site's dealer locator link.
