NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 28, 2005) — Mazda Motor Corp. has picked the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A to be the exclusive original equipment fitment on an all-wheel-drive version of its MazdaSpeed6 high-performance sedan, due to launched in the U.S. in August.
The 2006 MazdaSpeed6—a performance-tuned version of the Mazda6 sedan—is powered by a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 274 hp. It will use size 215/45R18XL 93Y Potenzas, Bridgestone/Firestone said. The tire carries a UTQG rating of 140 for treadwear, A for traction and A for temperature.
“This marks the first Bridgestone-brand performance tire fitment on a Mazda Speed vehicle,” said Mike Martini, president of original equipment consumer tire division.
