MEMPHIS, Tenn. (June 9, 2005) — Del-Nat Tire Corp. has promoted Ed Fabrizio to president replacing Dan Hunter, who left the company in March.
Tire dealer Dick Erickson, who had served as interim president since Mr. Hunter's departure, said Mr. Fabrizio's appointment was effective June 6. Mr. Fabrizio most recently had been vice president of business development and North American sales manager prior to that. He joined Del-Nat roughly five years ago but is a 30-year veteran of the tire industry, Mr. Erickson said.
“We knew that someone from the inside should have a feeling for what we're doing (and) it would be less of a learning curve for someone on the inside,” Mr. Erickson told Tire Business. “So we went with the experience.”
Mr. Erickson, who also is chairman of Del-Nat and owner of Sun Tire Inc. in Jacksonville, Fla., said he doesn't expect any major changes as Mr. Fabrizio begins work. Mr. Erickson said he reduced some jobs and repositioned other employees during his interim presidency.
“We're having nice growth, we're profitable, so we don't plan on making any changes in the near future,” he added.
Mr. Hunter had been president of Del-Nat since 2001.
