GREENVILLE, S.C. (May 24, 2005) — Hot Rod magazine has named BFGoodrich the official tire of the publication's 11th annual “Power Tour,” which will visit a number of cities June 4-11.
BFGoodrich “shares in the uniquely American spirit of the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour,” said Thom Peebles, Michelin North America Inc.'s BFGoodrich brand manager. “We've been a huge fan of the tour since its inception, and we look forward each year to sharing in this unique experience giving not only participants, but the thousands of consumer who come out to each stop a great opportunity to see the best of American muscle.”
The Power Tour began in 1995 when the magazine's staff decided to send its project cars on a cross-country road trip. Last year the tour—which offers home-built hot rods and vehicles from nationally recognized customizers in a car-show-on-wheels format—drew more than 2,000 hot rodders. Even more participants are expected this year, according to BFG.
Cities on the tour include Milwaukee June 4; Springfield, Ill., June 5; Indianapolis June 6; Nashville, Tenn., June 7; Birmingham, Ala., June 8; Tallahassee, Fla., June 9; and Kissimmee, Fla., June 10- 11.
During the tour, BFG said it will team up with select BFGoodrich dealers at tour stops to offer special discounts to consumers visiting the vehicle displays. In addition, the brand's 53-foot tractor-trailer and display will travel with the tour beginning with the June 6 stop in Indianapolis and finishing in Kissimmee.
