NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 13, 2005) — Bridgestone/Firestone's Insignia SE 200 02 tire will be the primary original equipment tire on the 2006 Buick Lucerne CX.
The Bridgestone-brand tire will outfit the entry-luxury sedan with size P225/60R16 97S.
“This new fitment is the result of a two-year development program in which we worked to create a unique Insignia SE200 02 tread pattern for use on the Buick Lucerne,” said Michael Martini, president, original equipment consumer tire division for BFS.
The company said the tread pattern is designed to provide a quiet ride with noise technologies that minimize the tire's second tread passage frequency.
Separately, BFS also launched a summer promotion to celebrate 88 races and 55 Firestone wins at the Indy 500. From May 12 to June 4 the “Race to Savings” promotion will offer an $88 rebate on four Firehawk Wide Oval tires and a $55 rebate on four Firehawk Indy 500 tires.
The promotion will be supported by television commercials, print advertising, direct mail and other methods, BFS said.
