CYPRESS, Calif. (May 11, 2005) — Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corp., along with SCCA SPEED World Challenge and Modified Magazine, is conducting a search for its 2006 “Toyo Girl.”
The Cypress-based tire maker—which provides the spec tire for both the touring and GT classes of the SPEED World Challenge Series—is offering the winner of its search a one-year professional modeling contract. During the Challenge racing season, the company will conduct model searches at each of the Sports Car Club of America series' 11 events held throughout North America, with two finalists selected each weekend.
In all, 22 finalists will make television appearances on SPEED Channel during World Challenge broadcasts, pose for the 2006 Modified Magazine SPEED World Challenge Calendar, be included in various World Challenge advertising, and appear on the World Challenge Web site. Finalists also will take part in autograph signings and fan interaction, pre-race ceremonies, winner's circle presentations and photo shoots at each event, Toyo said.
Travis Roffler, Toyo's senior director of marketing, said “Toyo Girls have a passion for motorsports and share our love of automobiles and the people around them.”
The Toyo Girls model team was formed in 1998 and has been featured on TV and in a number of magazines, according to the tire maker.
An online entry form for contestants is available at www.modifiedmag.com under “2005 Fan Focus Model Search.” Information about the race series is at www.world-challenge.com.
