FULLERTON, Calif. (May 2, 2005) — Yokohama Tire Corp. plans to increase prices across the board on its consumer tires up to 7 percent.
The increases, which are effective July 1, apply to Yokohama, Mohawk and private brand consumer tires. Detailed pricing will be provided to dealers prior to the actual increase.
Yokohama cited rising costs for raw materials, energy, freight and social cost adjustments as reasons for the price increase.
The tire maker earlier said it would raise prices by 5-6 percent on its truck and bus and light truck commercial tires, effective June 1.
