EAST NORRITON, Pa. (April 25, 2005) — Dan Wire, chairman and CEO of Treadways Corp., plans to retire next March 31 though he will continue as a consultant for the company through March 2008.
In a statement, Mr. Wire said he and his wife plan to return soon to their native Indiana, from which he will commute to East Norriton for the remainder of the fiscal year. He said the plans to return to Indiana was the major reason for his decision.
“It is also very gratifying to be able to pass along a company that is at the very top of its game,” he said in the statement. “Treadways has achieved record sales and profits for each of the past three years and, based on a record first quarter in 2005, is well on its way to a fourth straight year.”
Mr. Wire said his main frustration with his tenure has been unsuccessful attempts to move Treadways into the retail market. “It is apparent that it is going to take a lot more time and effort than I am willing to commit, so that goal is best left to my successor,” he said.
East Norriton-based Treadways markets the Jetzon, Telstar, Eldorado, Laramie and Sumitomo brands.
