CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 22, 2005) — Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) and American Car Care Centers Inc. (ACCC) have entered into a long-term partnership for the distribution and sales of Continental and General brand tires.
The pact was signed during the ACCC board of directors meeting, April 20 in Charlotte. It encompasses other elements, such as growth targets, promotion, signage and display material within ACCC retail locations in the U.S.
“CTNA's strong OE presence is very important, but equally important is the new direction the company has taken,” said Len Lewin, ACCC President and COO. “The signing of this agreement clearly indicates we believe in the direction and wish to support it. This agreement provides a strong foundation upon which we can continue to grow our partnership. We are pleased with the consistencies it provides our membership.”
“This is a significant step forward and a key element of our overall business strategy,” said Andreas Gerstenberger, vice president, sales and marketing for CTNA's passenger and light truck tire replacement unit. “We believe our mutual objectives are closely aligned and represents a huge opportunity for both organizations to expand our presence in the U.S. replacement market.”
