FINDLAY, Ohio (April 12, 2005) — At the urging of Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., Ohio Governor Bob Taft has proclaimed April 24 to April 30 Tire Safety Week in Ohio.
The governor´s proclamation is in conjunction with the Rubber Manufacturers Association´s (RMA) National Tire Safety Week—aimed at educating drivers about tire care and safety.
Thomas A. Dattilo, Findlay-based Cooper's chairman, president and CEO, said the governor's decree “raises awareness of a safety—and environmental—issue that needs to be on the minds of Ohio drivers. We encourage our tire dealers and customers to properly maintain their tires to ensure safer vehicles, making Ohio´s roads safer, too. Additionally, proper tire care improves a vehicle's gas mileage, which saves consumers money and benefits the environment.”
