Michelin North America Inc.'s Earthmover Group has unveiled a Total Cost of Ownership tool and a new size in its X-Haul line. It also unveiled a new tire at the 2005 ConExpo-Con/Agg show held in Las Vegas.
Michelin said the cost tool is intended to show customers how tire selection affects their company's productivity and bottom line. It includes repair, downtime, wear and initial price.
The tool also graphically illustrates the cost savings and return on investment of certain tire selections.
At the trade show, Michelin launched the X-Super Terrain AD radial tire for dump trucks, scrapers and loaders. The E4 radial is designed to deliver long life, shoulder and sidewall protection and operator ride comfort.
The tire maker also added the 24.00R35 size to its X-Haul line. The larger tire offers protection in severe conditions and allows for improved speed capability for haul trucks, Michelin claimed.
