GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 8, 2005) — Michelin Americas Small Tires (MAST) is introducing a limited-edition version of its popular BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM off-road tire to fit 22-inch wheels.
The tire, size LT335/55R22, will be available to dealers starting May 1, the company said. The new size—BFG's first-ever 22-inch fitment—and tread design are for consumers “who are customizing their trucks and SUVs and want an off-road look on a larger wheel diameter,” said Gary Enterline, light truck tire category manager for BFGoodrich.
The Mud-Terrain T/A KM is based on a prototype design that BFG initially showcased at last year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas aboard a custom Fox Racing SMA Hummer H2. The design of the tire is based on the Krawler T/A KX tire, a rock-crawling champion, BFG said, but with the “right combination of style and performance for use on the street.”
The new tire features a wide tread pattern and includes BFGoodrich's proprietary TriGard sidewall construction with three heavy-duty plies and its DiggerLugz technology.
