FULLERTON, Calif. (April 4, 2005) — Yokohama Tire Corp. introduced in the U.S. the first tire from its Advan ultra-high performance brand, the Advan Neova.
The tire maker also launched a Web site focused on the Advan brand in the U.S.
Yokohama said the Neova features a contact patch shape that delivers improved overall feel and drivability. A micro silica compound adds performance while smaller silica particles and high-grip carbon in the compound allow the tire to obtain maximum grip. Yokohama also aimed for greater durability with serrated groove walls that lessen stress on the tire block edges. Dimples on the side of the treadwall allow heat to escape during extreme cornering, and three circumferential grooves promote proper water drainage without compromising cornering.
The Neova is available in 14 sizes. It will be followed by the introduction of the Advan Sport and the Advan S/T, Fullerton-based Yokohama said.
The Advan Web site is at www.advan.com/USA.
