CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 1, 2005) — Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) marked the 90th anniversary of the General brand by introducing three General medium truck tires during the Mid-America Trucking show in Louisville, Ky.
The General D660 is designed for long haul, over-the-road use and features an extra deep 30/32-inch tread depth and closed shoulder tread design.
The S580 steer tire is built for usage in long haul steer positions and contains an 18/32-inch six-rib tread design to provide long mileage and low rolling resistance. Other features include an optimized footprint to ensure even pressure distribution and a special shoulder protection rib to resist irregular wear.
The ST250 trailer tire, engineered for long haul trailer positions, features a 13/32-inch tread depth to minimize tread squirm and irregular wear. The tread pattern and stone ejection system are designed to reduce stone retention and casing penetrations. The tire features CTNA's patented Visual Alignment Indicators on the outside rib of the tread face to alert users to tire tracking problems.
All three tires are available in the following sizes: 11R22.5, 11R24.5, 285/75R24.5 and 295/75R22.5.
