AKRON (March 28, 2005) — How many times have you awakened late at night and wondered how your dealership stacks up against other tire shops?

Or questioned if those pesky mass merchandisers are cutting even more into independent tire dealers' share of the replacement market?

Come on, you know who you are.

For all those late night questions that a quick spoon-dip in the ice cream won't satisfy, Tire Business has your true fix.

We've picked through our Web site, www.tirebusiness.com, and updated and ex-panded all of our statistics, directories, special reports…you name it. And we'll keep updating everything as soon as new information is published.

We're also working to expand the information to make sure it's clear, concise and as in-depth as possible.

So now on our Web site, you can find all the statistics published in our annual Market Data Book—such as tire maker market shares, automotive service statistics, tire outlets by state, most popular tire sizes, tire shipments, largest retail chains, etc.—plus other rankings and charts published during the year.

We also have a directories section with listings of DOT tire plant codes, manufacturers, private branders, industry associations and specialty tire marketers. Our special reports section houses all of the stories we publish throughout the year on topics such as farm and off-the-road tires, marketing groups and tire brands.

On the home page, you'll find breaking news headlines, an online poll and links to a searchable archive, calendar of events, published editorials, letters to the editor, Dan Marinucci's automotive service columns and Peggy Fisher's commercial tire service reports.

There you can sign up for NewsMail, our free daily e-mail service featuring the latest industry headlines.

As a reminder, full access to the site is open only to paid subscribers of the publication.

Of course, the print edition of TB still rules the roost with more in-depth articles than the Web site's headlines as well as exclusive stories published first in the print version. It's also the home of other features like Dealer Digest and Marketplace.

Through our print publication and Web site, we're working hard to deliver timely news and accurate information that tire and automotive service professionals need to run their businesses better.
