FINDLAY, Ohio (March 18, 2005) — Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has introduced a new addition to its Discoverer tire line, the Discoverer ATR.
The ATR, according to the Findlay-based tire maker, offers on- and off-road performance, rugged capability and a multi-faceted tread design made up of a five-rib, all-terrain tread pattern that extends over the shoulders to enhance off-road traction.
Cooper said the tire has wide and deep sawtooth circumferential grooves and lateral slots to help provide a solid all-terrain performance advantage and enhanced all-weather traction. It offers wear and durability that off-road enthusiasts desire.
The Discoverer ATR comes with raised, white-outline sidewall lettering in most sizes. The R and S speed rated all-terrain tire is available in popular light truck 14-, 15-, 16-, and 17-inch sizes, as well as a 20-inch outline, white letter wheel diameter size. The new ATR will encompass extensive size coverage—more than 50 SKUs—that will include many new fitments for the 2003 and 2004 light trucks and sport-utility vehicles on the market today. It also features a limited 50,000-mile tread life warranty.
