EDMONTON, Alberta (March 14, 2005) — Fountain Tire's CEO since 1992, Brian Hesje, has been named chairman of the board of the Edmonton-based dealership.
Succeeding Mr. Hesje as CEO will be his nephew Brent Hesje, who has served as president of the company since 2001, the year he joined the company. Brian Hesje, who joined Fountain Tire in 1984, is not retired, a spokeswoman said.
“These are exciting times for Fountain Tire as we head into our 50th year of business in 2006,” Brent Hesje said. “We have great opportunities ahead of us, and I am fortunate to be leading our organization.”
In addition to Brent Hesje, Fountain Tire's executive team includes Leroy Hawtin, senior vice president; Garry Paulson, vice president of finance; and Jim Pangle, general manager of stores.
Fountain Tire was founded in 1956 by Bill Fountain in Wainwright, Alberta. The retail and wholesale company operates more than 140 stores across western Canada. It is 50-percent owned by Goodyear.
