TORONTO (March 3, 2005) — The Rubber Association of Canada (RAC) and the Canadian government will host the second annual “Be Tire Smart Week” April 24-30.
In the U.S., the Rubber Manufacturers Association is hosting its National Tire Safety Week, also a branch of the “Be Tire Smart—Play Your PART” campaign, during the same dates in April. The U.S. program is in its fourth year.
The Canadian program is aimed at gathering partners—including tire makers, tire dealers and other automotive retailers—to educate motorists about proper tire maintenance. By doing so, the service providers can reinforce their position as a trusted source of information, the Canadian groups said.
“We're expecting wide participation from auto service practitioners with this year's Be Tire Smart Week,” said Glenn Maidment, president of the RAC.
