QUINCY, Ill. (Feb. 25)—Maurice Taylor, CEO and president of Titan International Inc., said an announcement during the week of Feb. 28 will address the rumors surrounding potential transactions involving his company.
During Titan's fourth-quarter analyst conference call Feb. 25, Mr. Taylor said he'll answer questions regarding Titan and a possible acquisition—late in the week, likely March 4 in another phone conference. He wouldn't comment on anything specifically or confirm there would be a transaction, but insisted listeners should "stay tuned."
The most prominent speculation has been that the Quincy-based tire and wheel maker will buy Goodyear's agricultural tire business. Mr. Taylor also has suggested Titan is in a good position to be sold, and likely won't be a publicly traded company too far into the future.
