NEW YORK (Feb. 23, 2005) — Group Michelin will issue its first Red Guide for any U.S. city—in this case, New York—in November 2005.
The edition, Michelin Guide New York City 2006, will provide descriptions and ratings for some 500 New York City restaurants and 50 hotels. As for its other 12 Red Guides covering 20 European countries, Michelin's New York guide will contain the evaluations of anonymous inspectors who dine at the restaurants and stay overnight at the hotels in question.
“We are making every effort to produce a selection that does full justice to the rich diversity of the New York City restaurant and hotel culture,” Michelin CEO Edouard Michelin said in a press release.
