LAKEVILLE, Ind. (Feb. 7, 2005) — Hoosier Racing Tire Corp. has gained exclusive tire supplier status with two more oval track racing series.
American Speed Association (ASA) Late Model Series L.L.C. and CRA Super Series, both late model stock car racing series active in the Midwest, have chosen Hoosier for their 2005 seasons and beyond.
Hoosier said it is developing a line of radial short track racing tires specifically for the ASA series, which will have 16 races at tracks in nine states.
“We are very excited to be leading the push in the development of a short track radial tire for late model cars weighing under 3,000 pounds,” said Terry Newton, Hoosier's oval track asphalt product manager.
Hoosier will be replacing BFGoodrich as the late model series' exclusive tire supplier, although BFG continues to supply other ASA national events.
The ASA Late Model Series features Chevrolet, Ford and Dodge sedan body styles. The races are 100-lap green flag events, meant to discourage pit stops for adding fuel or changing tires.
CRA—formerly Sunoco Super Series and Indiana Late Model Series—renewed its contract with Hoosier after a three-year run with Goodyear. The series races at tracks in six Midwestern states.
CRA competitors will run on Hoosier bias-ply race tires.
