DALLAS (Jan. 31, 2005) — Goodyear has introduced a 22-inch high-performance tire for its sport truck series—the Dunlop Grandtrek PT9000.
The tire comes in size 305/40R22, is H-rated for speeds up to 130 mph, and has a wide tread modified to maintain the deep-water performance of narrower sport truck tires, according to Dunlop engineer Chris Raglin. He said large outer tread blocks and high-angle, open shoulder grooves provide responsive and stable cornering. Other versions of the Grandtrek PT9000 are specified as standard equipment on high-end European performance vehicles.
The new tire—targeted towards tuners—features a directional, high-speed tread pattern designed for “in-the-know drivers who share a passion for performance driving and customizing their vehicles to reflect their personalities,” said Andy Traicoff, director of Dunlop consumer tire marketing, at the Goodyear dealer meeting in Dallas.
Dunlop also carries the PT9000 in sizes 255/50R20 and 275/40R20.
