WASHINGTON (Jan. 25, 2005) — The Rubber Manufacturers Association has updated its tire servicing manual for consumers and tire service professionals, stating tire industry guidelines for replacing passenger and light truck tires.
The eight-page manual covers tires through Load Range E and addresses such topics as selecting replacement tires, tire mixing, replacing fewer than four tires, plus-sizing and tire rim/wheel selection. It also contains a supplement that includes standards tables for approved rim widths, light truck load/inflation and some obsolete data, the RMA said.
The RMA Web site, www.rma.org, offers a sample manual and supplement for downloading and printing. Printed copies may be ordered from the "Publications" section of the Web site, or by calling (800) 325-5095, ext. 242.
