TILBURG, The Netherlands (Jan. 13, 2005) — Goodyear has secured a five-year contract to supply tires and tire maintenance to Ryanair, a European low-cost airline.
The contract includes the delivery of new tires as well as the repair and overhaul of aviation tires for Ryanair's fleet of 66 Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The airline also has orders for 96 new planes and up to 123 options to be delivered until 2009. The tire contract includes an option for an additional five years, Goodyear said.
Goodyear will supply the tires from its manufacturing plants in Danville, Va., and Bangkok, Thailand. They will be retreaded in Tilburg.
