WASHINGTON (Dec. 30, 2004) — Submissions for the Rubber Manufacturers Association's annual Safety and Health Improvement Program (SHIP) awards are due Jan. 17.
SHIP award recipients will be named at the RMA's annual meeting, Feb. 26-28 in Phoenix.
The SHIP award program was created in 1981 to encourage and recognize member companies that achieve significant enhancements in workplace safety. 2004 winners in the excellence category included plants operated by Bridgestone/Firestone, Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., Goodyear, Pirelli Tire North America Inc. and Michelin North America Inc., among others. Winners in the improvement category included plants operated by Bridgestone/Firestone, Continental Tire North America Inc., Cooper, Goodyear, Michelin and Pirelli, among others.
