ASA awards two state groups
BEDFORD, Texas-The Automotive Service Association, departing from tradition, presented its Chairman's Award of Excellence to two groups for their reaffiliation with ASA.
ASA-Michigan and ASA-Texas received the awards at the association's ``Celebration of Excellence'' awards ceremony Nov. 5 during Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week in Las Vegas. The Chairman's Award of Excellence typically goes to an individual for his or her contributions to the association and industry, ASA said.
``I am honored to recognize two ASA affiliates for their commitment to heal and reunite ASA,'' said Geralynn Kottschade, ASA chairman.
Also at the ceremony, ASA bestowed its Benefit Provider of the Year award to Identifix of Roseville, Minn.
This annual award is given to an associate member in appreciation of its relationship with ASA and for the price, quality and professional service it offers to ASA members.
The association said it has a longstanding relationship with Identifix as a member benefit provider. ``ASA can refer a shop owner to Identifix and feel confident the shop owner will get the information they need to repair the car right the first time,'' said John Scully, ASA's executive vice president.
