WASHINGTON (Dec. 7, 2004) — More than 200 representatives of the automotive aftermarket industry are expected in Washington March 1-2 for the 2005 Aftermarket Legislative Summit, according to the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA).
Federal legislators and their staff are expected at a legislative reception March 1, followed the next day by aftermarket executives lobbying their elected officials on such topics as the Motor Vehicle Owner's Right to Repair Act, Association Health Plan legislation, auto parts anti-counterfeiting legislation and asbestos litigation reform.
Eleven associations co-sponsor the event, including AAIA, the Tire Industry Association, the Service Station Dealers of America and the Coalition for Auto Repair Equality.
