LAS VEGAS (Nov. 3, 2004) – The Tire Industry Association and the Rubber Manufacturers Association today announced they will work together on issues of common concern in the tire industry.
“We've got a renewed commitment to dialogue,” said Donald Shea, president and CEO of the RMA, during a joint press conference with leaders of the two groups. “If you have dialogue, you have a better opportunity to forge an agreement.”
The two groups cited a five-point cooperative agenda that includes compliance with the Transportation Recall Enhancement, Accountability and Documentation (TREAD) Act, rolling resistance, tire service life, tire pressure monitoring system training and annual motor vehicle inspections.
