AKRON (Oct. 29, 2004) — The Goodyear blimp “Spirit of Goodyear” will have a bird's-eye view of states turning red and blue on Election Day, Nov. 2.
The blimp will fly over Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, providing election coverage for NBC News. NBC covered the nearby skating rink with the outline of a map of the U.S., and states will turn red or blue depending if their votes go toward Democratic hopeful John Kerry (blue) or President George Bush (red).
Images from the Goodyear blimp, which is based in Akron, will be broadcast on NBC, MSNBC, Telemundo and WNBC.
