AKRON (Oct. 1, 2004) — AAA is gearing up efforts to get motorists ready for winter with inspections during AAA Car Care Month in October.
For the month, participating AAA clubs offer motorists free inspections to help them prepare for winter. Last year, AAA said the most frequently discovered problem was improper tire pressure and low or dirty motor oil, anti-freeze or other fluids.
“This year's winter season is just around the corner, and millions of vehicles are in need of preventive maintenance before the weather turns colder,” said John Nielsen, director of AAA's Approved Auto Repair network.
The Car Care Council, which runs the “Be Car Care Aware” consumer campaign, in 2003 moved its National Car Care Month from October to April.
