AKRON (Sept. 27, 2004) — Goodyear said its run-flat Eagle F1 GSD3 EMT will be available as an option on the Ferrari F430, which was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show.
The Ferrari vehicle, the successor to the 360 Modena, will have tires in size 225/35ZR19 on the front and 285/35ZR19 on the rear.
The Akron-based tire maker said the Ferrari vehicle takes four seconds to go from 0 to 62 mph, and it tops out at 196 mph. “The Eagle F1 provides excellent performance for the F430 and at the same time Goodyear's run-flat technology guarantees the highest possible level of safety should the driver have a puncture,” said Jean Jacques Wiroth, European director of original equipment sales and marketing for Goodyear.
Goodyear said it plans to sell 1.4 million run-flat tires in 2004 and hinted that more run-flat fitments could come in the future.
