GREENVILLE, S.C. (Sept. 21, 2004) — Michelin North America Inc. late last week re-opened its three Alabama manufacturing plants after Hurricane Ivan passed the area.
A spokeswoman said the plants—in Tuscaloosa, Opelika and Dothan—did not sustain any damage. She said a picnic table blew away from the Opelika plant, but there were no other problems from the hurricane, and all the plants are back operating at full steam.
Last week she said Michelin didn't expect any supply problems from the temporary shutdown.
Two plants closed Wednesday and the third closed Thursday. All reopened on Friday morning.
