ALEXANDRIA, Va. (Sept. 20, 2004)—Donald G. Brotzman, president of the Rubber Manufacturers Association from 1977 to 1989, died of cancer Sept. 15 at a nursing home in Alexandria.
During his tenure at the RMA, Mr. Brotzman—who also served as a five-term Republican congressman from Colorado—led the association through some of its biggest regulatory challenges, such as the establishment of the Uniform Tire Quality Grading System. He also was instrumental in bringing the major international tire manufacturers into the RMA fold.
“He was a very outgoing, dynamic guy, and he will be missed,” said current RMA President Donald B. Shea.
