NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 1, 2004) — Bridgestone/Firestone will host its “Best on Bridgestone” contest at this year's Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in November.
The contest is limited to SEMA-members, who may nominate any project vehicle on display with Bridgestone-brand tires. BFS prefers that official entry forms arrive before the show, slated for Nov. 2-5 in Las Vegas, but the tire maker will accept entries until 5 p.m. Oct. 31. A color photo of the vehicle must be included with the entry, BFS said.
The top three finalists will receive cash prizes ranging from $500 to $2,500 plus a trophy and plaque. Winners also will be featured in BFS advertising in SEMA News. Vehicles will be judged based on a variety of factors, including uniqueness, overall appearance, how well the project accentuates the tires, “coolest” paint scheme, best use of bolt-on aftermarket accessories, audio/video systems, underhood appearance, accuracy and safety of tire/wheel fitment, interior/exterior carryover and unique accessories.
The panel of judges will be comprised of International Show Car Association experts and BFS represenatives. The top 10 entries will be selected before the show based on the application and photo. The panel will personally judge the 10 semi-finalists during the SEMA show and announce the top three winners at 4 p.m. Nov. 3 in the Bridgestone Americas Media Center.
Entries, including a color photo, should be sent to Shari McCullough-Arfons, McCullough Public Relations, 143 Wilbur Dr., N.E., North Canton, OH 44720. Photos should be no smaller than 5x7 and no larger than 8x10. Deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. Oct. 29 and on-site submission must be complete by 5 p.m. Oct. 31.
